Exceptional fortitude
Inspired by intrepid travellers, military engineers, soldiers, and adventurous souls of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the Pioneer Bag embodies the spirit of exploration and discovery.
It is a testament to those who braved the untamed wilderness, pushing boundaries and paving the way for future generations. Designed with durability and versatility in mind, the Pioneer Bag is the perfect companion for today's explorers who are ready to forge their own paths.
versatile use
We have carefully selected environmentally low impact waxed cotton sourced from Scotland. As part of our commitment to Great British manufacturing, all bags are proudly made in the UK using a light waxed, weather-resistant cotton, durable cotton webbing, and British vegetable tanned leather. The fabric is cut by hand using scissors and stitched together by skilled machinists. This meticulous attention to detail ensures the longevity of our bags, while maintaining their distinctive vintage look, feel, and style.
key features
The Claymore Mine
The Claymore Mine was under development at the end of WWII but didn't make it into production before the war was over.
Its name is derived from the basket-hilted mediaeval sword, a prominent military weapon in Europe from the 17th to the 19th centuries.
Our Pioneer Bag pays homage to the mine's origins by recreating its small cotton carry case with two bellowed compartments.
